Foton 4×2 18-Ton Flatbed Tow Truck
The Foton 4×2 flatbed tow truck is designed for vehicle recovery, roadside assistance, and transportation of disabled passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, and other wheeled equipment. Its three-section telescopic flatbed combines low-angle loading with a rear towing system on a heavy-duty 18,000 kg chassis.
Three-Section Telescopic Flatbed
The low-profile flatbed extends to 11.8 meters and uses a main bed, middle extension, and rear extension to accommodate different vehicle lengths. The 6 mm Q235B checker-plate deck and reinforced cross-member structure provide a durable loading surface, while the folding rear ramp maintains a loading angle of no more than 12° for vehicles with limited ground clearance.
Hydraulic Loading and Recovery System
Hydraulic cylinders control the main bed lifting, middle section extension, and rear ramp movement. A PTO-driven hydraulic gear pump supplies the recovery system, while the 4-ton hydraulic winch provides a maximum static pull of 40 kN for drawing disabled vehicles onto the flatbed. Rear stabilizer legs provide additional support during recovery work.
Integrated Towing Capability
In addition to flatbed recovery, the vehicle is equipped with a rear tow arm rated for up to 4,500 kg. Wheel-lifting brackets, retaining plates, auxiliary dollies, securing straps, chains, and bow shackles allow different recovery methods to be used according to the condition and configuration of the disabled vehicle.
Foton Heavy-Duty 4×2 Chassis
The vehicle uses the Foton BJ1186VKPHK-1K chassis with a 4×2 drive configuration and a Yuchai YC6L270-33 six-cylinder diesel engine producing 199 kW (270 HP) and 1,030 N·m of torque. The Fast Gear 8JS118A eight-speed manual transmission, reinforced frame, heavy-duty axles, and leaf-spring suspension support recovery operations at a GVW of 18,000 kg.
Practical Safety and Export Configuration
Standard equipment includes hydraulic protection, reflective markings, warning beacons, rear work lamps, fire extinguisher, securing equipment, and service tools. Export configurations can include ABS, wireless remote control, air conditioning, reversing camera, larger hydraulic winch, removable cargo sideboards, and cold-weather starting equipment.
